The Suppression of Natural Medicine in the United States

Why is natural medicine seen as “alternative” medicine? Why are holistic practices and methods of healing seen as quackery by the mainstream? To answer those questions, we have to look at the power of money in the U.S. medical and education industry, the American Medical Association, and the billionaires who played a huge role in the centralization of the U.S. medical industry.

Freedom of Choice in Health

Our story starts in the 1800s with three different types of medicine that were practiced in the U.S. medical system. There were Allopathic practitioners, Eclecticism (a form of Naturopathy), and Homeopathy. Allopathic practitioners included the majority of practitioners in the United States and used methods that included blood-letting (releasing blood from the body to heal from disease), injecting metals directly into the blood to heal, and surgery. This form of medical practice is the same one that made George Washington die in agony while his blood drained. Eclecticism was a system that was created by a practitioner named Samuel Thomson who used natural ways of healing the body through the use of botanical remedies, steam baths, and rest. He did not invent these healing modalities, but put them in a systematic way that others can duplicate, which they did. This method was in line with the way women in U.S. households were used to healing themselves and their family, naturally and holistically. People in U.S. households believed in the power of the human body to heal itself as did many of their ancestors did. The healing system called Homeopathy was created by German physician, Samuel Hahneman. Again, he didn’t create the methods within Homeopathy, but he did streamline the healing practice. Homeopathy countered the mainstream medical idea that if one gram of a substance effectively suppresses a symptom then 10 grams of that same substance would be 10 times as effective. In Homeopathy, the optimal and minimal dosage was stressed. Homeopathy also stressed the importance of fresh air, sunshine, bed rest, proper diet, and personal hygiene which resonated with the U.S. public. By 1870, there were about 2,000 practitioners using Eclecticism, 6,000 practitioners using Homeopathy, and about 58,000 practitioners using Allopathic practices. By 1880, of the 100 medical schools in existence, 14 taught Homeopathy, and 9 taught Eclecticism. Needless to say, these two natural forms of medicine began to compete with mainstream medical practices. However, the American Medical Association (AMA), was set on creating a standard for medicine based in science rather than nature and eliminating all competing forces.

Mainstream Medical Monopoly

The AMA was established in 1847 at a convention in Philadelphia by 230 delegates from more than 40 medical societies and 28 schools.Throughout the 1800s, the AMA fought to systemically drive out practitioners using Homeopathy, Eclecticism, and other natural ways of healing. In the 1800s, no one needed a license to practice medicine or help people heal. This was a problem for the AMA because Homeopathy, Eclecticism and other natural healing modalities were very attractive to the U.S. public, thus cutting into allopathic practitioners’ income. During the 1800s, the AMA led the charge to pressure state lawmakers to create licensure requirements for people practicing medicine in the U.S.. Historically, licensing has been used as a tool to keep a group of people out of an industry. What occurred during the late 1800s is not an exception and in order to become a licensed practitioner in certain states, you needed to adhere to allopathic practices. This being the case, allopathic practitioners could not ignore the effectiveness of the nature-based Homeopathic and Eclectic methods of healing the body. Allopathic practitioners began using more botanicals in their medicine instead of only toxic metals and lowering their dosage of medicine administration. This was despite several allopathic medical journals dismissing Homeopathy, Eclecticism and other natural ways of healing the body as quackery. Up until this point the U.S. public had not been convinced to shift from natural medical practices and continued to support Homeopathic and Eclectic methods of healing.

In the late 1800s, allopathic practitioners began to experiment with and isolate the components of natural herbs like coca leaves, willow bark, china bark, African dogbane, and opium poppy to create cocaine, aspirin, alkaloids, Digitalis, morphine, codeine, and heroin. As these new synthetic substances seemed to suppress symptoms such as pain and other bodily expressions, allopathic practitioners invested more and more time in their development. Much of the motivation for this push to more synthetic forms of drugs was the exposure of allopathic practitioners in the U.S. being exposed to European practitioners who were seen to have a superior and more organized health care system. They were also leading the industrial revolution in terms of innovation. Given the relationship between the U.S. and Europe at the time, the U.S. practitioners saw Europe as a shining example of what to become. This drove a movement to more synthetic and industrial ways of producing medicine to treat the body.

The Tipping Point

The tipping point came when the production of medicine became a potential source of big business for the richest person in the U.S. at the time, John D. Rockefeller. First let’s explain a little about who John D. Rockefeller was. In 1900, Rockefeller controlled the Oil industry and formed a monopoly through his company, Standard Oil. One of his quotes was, “Competition is a sin, so we proceed to eliminate it.”. True to his word, he controlled every aspect of the Oil industry to dominate it. To do this, he created the Standard Oil Trust, the world’s first monopoly, to control the entire U.S. oil industry, controlling the extraction, refining, transportation, distribution, and sale processes of all products derived from 90% of all U.S. oil and sustaining operations, investments, and activities in dozens of other countries. As Oil became more in demand during the industrial revolution, Rockefeller sought out new ways that oil could be used in more products. When allopathic scientists discovered that Oil could be used to create pharmaceuticals, he wanted all in and proceeded to eliminate the competition to the pharmaceutical industry. That competition was Eclecticism and Homeopathy. Now, the AMA had a powerful ally in the centralization of the medical industry.

Since the inception of the AMA, its members knew very clearly that the medical profession was directly influenced by the medical education practitioners received. This need for control over what kind of practitioners people could access for their healing, resulted in the AMA reaching out to the Carnegie Foundation to fund a report on the state of U.S. and Canadian medical colleges. Abraham Flexner was asked to develop the report by visiting all 155 U.S. and Canadian medical schools in existence at the time. His findings would inspire John D. Rockefeller to create the General Education Board, appoint Flexner as Secretary and have him systemically create a medical system that dealt a huge blow to practitioners using natural ways of healing the body. In the report, he pointed out the disorganization of the medical school system and dismissed natural healing modalities as cookery that was unfounded in science. Over half of medical schools were closed and Johns Hopkins was seen is the golden standard of allopathic medicine. As a result, allopathic medicine was deemed to be more reliable, although their methods were not proven to be successful at healing anything. For example, one of the practices in allopathic medicine was to inject people with toxic lead and mercury to eliminate disease in the body. We know very clearly today that mercury and lead are highly toxic to the body. Nevertheless, the Flexner report was submitted to the U.S. Congress and inspired laws to change regarding medical practice nationwide in favor of allopathic medicine.

By the time the U.S. Congress established laws for medical licensing, the medical landscape was already becoming more and more centralized due to the AMA. The Rockefeller Foundation and the General Education Board took the lead in making sure medical colleges taught curriculums that were aligned with allopathic practices. This solidified the reliance of the now monopolized medical industry on oil-based pharmaceutical (allopathic) drugs.

Here is a direct quote from The Rockefeller Foundation’s history website detailing how the General Education Board and the Rockefeller Foundation itself, created the platform for the current medical establishment worldwide and suppressed natural medicine throughout much of the 20th century:

As noted in the 1923 RF Annual Report:

… medical education plays an essential part in the leadership and success of public health work. The Rockefeller Foundation is concerned, therefore, in aiding influential medical schools in many parts of the world to improve their facilities, to strengthen their teaching staffs, to perfect their methods, to maintain high standards, and gradually, in the words of a distinguished British medical authority, to ‘permeate the curriculum with the preventative idea.’[2]

During this time, the Rockefeller Foundation and the General Education Board in essence created a situation where colleges could only receive funding if they taught allopathic medicine or their version of high standards. By this time, the image of natural healing modalities was effectively tarnished and seen as quackery by the growing medical establishment. Millions had been poured into the perception that science-based allopathic medicine was superior to natural healing modalities, despite the reception of natural healing methods decades earlier. This idea was manufactured into the fabric of the U.S. society by way of medical schools, the indoctrinated people graduating from those schools, the media of the day, and the power, money, and influence of the monopolized medical industry. Furthermore, people who practice anything other than allopathic medicine could not gain a medical license and could go to jail for practicing or claiming to treat anything.

2021 U.S. Medical (HealthCare) Industry

medicial symbol in the back with The United State 4 trillion medical industry

The centralization of healthcare that started in the mid-1800’s created an industry that is now worth over $4 Trillion today. This $4 Trillion industry is protected because, well, there are many hands in this $4 Trillion dollar pot! This is why you have to specify that you are NOT a doctor if you are giving advice to someone for healing purposes. Things are changing as we rise in consciousness as a collective and natural ways of healing are being re-discovered, as well changing your state of consciousness and holistic practices by more and more people due the failure of the current healthcare INDUSTRY. People are realizing that natural and holistic healing modalities such as chiropractic practices, herbal medicine, acupuncture and holistic medicine are very viable forms of healing. Thankfully, cultures in countries such as China, India, and many African countries have preserved their ways of healing despite the pressure and funding by Rockefeller in the early 1900s and now, Bill and Melinda Gates in the 2000s to change to the allopathic form of healing.

This is why the Practical Mystic Health & Wellness club is committed to empowering our members with the knowledge to heal yourself naturally and holistically like humans have done for thousands of years and there are levels to consciousness and healing. The suppression of the truth about your health has been more than a century in the making, but the truth is here and it can set you free if you let it.
